Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Los Alamitos, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Los Alamitos is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Alamitos follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Staying in the area and came across Amaravati while browsing Google Maps (because I didn't want to move my car and lose a perfectly good parking spot). This was walking distance from the hotel. I stopped by Wednesday evening after the dinner rush. Was pleasantly greeted by a friendly gal. I mentioned I wanted to order takeout. They do have a very spacious dining room, but I wanted to get back to my hotel room before dark since I was walking. I opted for an order of Butter Chicken (which comes with a side of rice), and an order of Garlic Naan. Requested the butter chicken to be mild (or "as mild as possible"). Wait wasn't too long, there was another order ahead of me. My takeout order was well packaged - everything in its own container/wrapper to ensure they stayed hot and fresh. The delicious aroma was tantalizing on my brief walk back to the hotel. Holy moly. I'm no expert on Indian food - but everything tasted amazing! The garlic naan was hands down the best garlic naan I've ever had. It was warm, fresh, crispy in all the right places, and tasted equally great on its own - as well as dipped into the rich and creamy butter chicken sauce. The side of rice is perfect for one per

Awesome Mutton (Goat) Biriyani. Must try. We also had Shahi Paneer that was good. Loved the fact that the Lachha paratha was not maida so tasty as well as healthier than maida naan. We also ordered a mango lassi. Fun fact: our friend from out of state who visited this place was praising this mutton Biriyani so much that we had to try it out as soon as we landed in long beach. It did not disappoint.

Love it so much! The food tasted amazing! We got Onion Pakora, Malaki Kofta, Onion Kulcha, Garlic Green Chile Naan, and a Mango Lassi. The spicy level was perfect and the taste was spectacular not your same old taste like every other Punjabi restaurant. Service was excellent everyone was amazing! Atmosphere was very clean friendly and also had beautiful paintings on the walls. It is a bit or a smaller restaurant but very homey feeling!

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. This is a small, family-operated restaurant offering both buffet and menu options. The food was very tasty with a moderate level of spice. The buffet is limited in size but more than sufficient, and everything we tried was well-prepared. Service was very good and attentive. The strip mall location is clean and attractive, with a neighborhood feel that clearly caters to locals. Weβd definitely recommend it to those in the area.

We had a great experience at Amaravati Restaurant, especially if youβre craving authentic South Indian food. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, from the soft idlis with well-balanced chutneys to the crisp, perfectly filled dosas. The garlic chutney spring dosa was the clear standoutβbold, aromatic, and easily the best dish we had. On top of the food, the staff and service were excellent: attentive, friendly, and quick, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, itβs a solid go-to spot for quality South Indian cuisine in the Los Alamitos area.
